Alright so I havent been on buzznet in a really long time and I think if I'm gonna say anything that will hold up for the next couple of moths it's that I am seriously obsessed with American Idol. I started watching the show during season 5. After that, I was hooked. Most people only like watching the auditions because they're funny and yes I agree they are hilarious. But for me I really like watching and picking a favorite and freaking out wondering if they'll make it past eliminations. Usually, I never vote but last year(last season) I realized that if Adam Lambert beat Kris Allen I would blame myself. I couldn't be upset by the results knowing that I might've been able to change them. So after watching the final episode of performances I realized that I had to vote for my favorite: Kris Allen. I may not have gotten a lot of votes in, but I felt better knowing that maybe i contributed to his wn. The second his album came out I bought it. Kris Allen is an artist that I really love. His cd may not be the exact style you love but songs like "Red Guitar" and "Before We Come Undone" are addicting. That's the cd that I would tell people to just try listening to. You may realize that you love it.

                                                   

But back to American Idol. This season has to be the one I am really in to. I have yet to miss a single episode and I have voted more than ever. Who am I voting for? TIM URBAN! Yes, Tim Urban is my favorite contestant this year. (My other favorites include: Lilly Scott, Alex Lambert, Lee DeWyze, and Lacy Brown. and yes I do know that some of them were voted off) So Tim wasn't even supposed to make it to the top 24. Another contestant was still held to a contract which violates the rules, so he couldn't compete and Tim took his spot. Tim's first Top 24 performance was probably his worst on the show. He sang "Apologize" by One Republic and it wasn't pretty. Simon even told him that they made the right decision in not putting him through the first time. Ouch. But he made it through and even made it to the top 12! After that his enxt two performances were'nt his best and even though he was in the bottom 3 he still slipped by. Finally after performing All My loving by the Beatles the judges stopped bashing him and actually gave him compliments! That night, i voted 260 times for Tim(a personal best). That week, he wasn't even in the bottom 3! So I think that itkinda proves that people do vote based on performance. Usually the people with the worst performances are in the bottom three. For me, it proves that Tim isn't just getting votes because he's good looking. The show really isn't a popularity contest.

                                          

But, some people tell me I only vote for him because he's good looking(and i do believe he is). Not true. People don't listen to The Maine because John is hot. It's just a bonus! I wouldn't vote  if I didn't think Tim had talent. I vote because I want him to have the chance to make an album because I would buy it. I don't think he has the chance to win. Some of the other contestants are really amazing(Siobhan Magnus, Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox, Big Mike) but each week he makes it through and I think he might make it far enough to start a career. Well yes these are my thoughts. Maybe i'll do a review of each episode? hmmmm

Being that I am a big fan of the Summer Set, I had to look up The Format since they mention them so much. Needless to say, I haven't stopped listening to their album "Dog Problems". I first previewd the song "She Doesn't Get It" on iTunes and after that the album was on my Christmas list. The album may be 3 years old but I am glad I found it. Something definitely worth listening to. A perfect combination of Wilco and The Morning Light. The Song "Snails" has a more country feel to it that reminds me of Wilco while "She Doesn't Get It" reminds me of The Morning Light (a band we all miss). I don't think there is a single song on this album that I would skip. It is something you have to listen to start to finish.

                                                             

It's a shame they haven't come out with a new album recently. But there's enough music to get you hooked :)

I love taking pictures and I think i want to start some type of project that involves taking one picture of something every day for a year. I'd start on new years day 2010. I think that the pictures you take on each day would reflect your moods or your feelings. Would you be able to tell how you were feeling that day by each picture? I'd like to find out. Maybe the rule could be that you yourself are not allowed to be in the picture unless it's a group picture. That way your feelings become more abstract.... What if 10 other people did this? 20? 30? 100? 1000? Documenting their lives. Maybe titling each picture with a quote that you feel is fitting. 1 whole year of your life displayed in photos. 365 photos. 365 memories.

alright i just realized that it's been a really long time since i've gon eon buzznet. anyways, just want to say that right now i think everyone on this planet should go buy The Summer Set's new album "Love Like This". Seriously it's just amazing. I've seen those kids twice in the past 20 days and they are just amazing. Sounds exactly the same live theyre really a band you need to see live before you die. BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!

 

                                                   

Is it just me or is the shuffle on iTunes stupid? When I click shuffle I do not want three All Time Low songs to play one after another! There's a reason I clicked shuffle! That really bothers me. Why can't it realize that the reason for hitting shuffle is so that I dont hear the same artist more than once and now I'm hearing them 3 times in a row?! It's so crazy I might as well just shuffle it myself.

So since I've been really into blogging lately I've decided to have something to blog about so I'm going to tell you my favorite 5 things at the end of everyday or the beginning or everyday or the middle of everyday. Either way, it's 5 things that are currently taking over my brain.

1. TV Show:

    So if youre looking for something to watch on tuesday nights at 9, I highly reccomend you put on BRAVO and watching NYC Prep. The season just started so it will be really easy to catch up. If you're a fan of "The Hills" I reccomend watching NYC Prep. Also Merlin is an awesome show on NB on Sunday nights at 8(?). Both shows are great and will definitely give you something to watch(while you wait for the new season of Project Runway to air in august).

  

                               

2. Album or EP:

   Well like I said before I am really in love with The Morning Light's self titled album right now but I also can's stop listening to Brighten's EP "Early Love". All of the songs are amazing and different and remind me a little of Rooney. My favorite song is probably "What She Really Wants".

                                                                   

3. Item of clothing:

    I really really really really love flannel shirts and scarves right now. I think both make you look like a rockstar thats hanging out on the beach, I know it's a weird way of looking at it but whatever. I definitely think flannels and scarves are awesome!

                                                                        

4.  Song:

    I know it's out of season but "Winter Passing" by The Academy Is... is stuck in my head at the moment. There are no lyrics that I continualy sing but the chorus in general is I wouldnt say catchy but one that I want to listen to quite often. I can't make a playlist without putting "Winter Passing" at the top of the list.

5. Photograph:

    So I was on tumblr and I saw a photo taken by Kennedy Brock from The Maine. It's probably one of the prettiest pictures I've seen in a while. You expect professional photographers to take pictures like this. This kind of photo opportunity appears once in a lifetime. The members of The Maine and A Rocket to the Moon and other bands that were on Warped Tour that day were ridiculously lucky to be able to have the chance to take a picture like this.

                                 

                                                            It definitely looks like a scene from a movie.

It's summer. Which means ice pops are in my freezer. Not the weird one like that are supposed to be rockets and have bad jokes on them the good ones. the freeze pops! They are freakin amazing! Why do they tast so good? We'll never know but for now I will enjoy my summer with a freeze pop in my hand!

Also i've been listening to The Morning Light a lot recently. Their CD is quite amazing. Even my mom likes it! haaa! If you don't own it and your a fan of Foutains of Wayne's album "Traffic and Weather" I suggest buying The Morning Light's CD.

I hope everyone is having a lovely summer. May it be filled with ice pops and good music. (especially All Time Low's new album "Nothing Personal" July 7th!) Is anybody going to any concerts? I will be seen at one of the shows on the Lets Make a Mess Tour featuring Hey Monday and I'll be seeing All Time Low with We the Kings.

Creativity is managed by the right side of your brain is it not? They say we don't use all of our brains. Probably less than half. So why not try to use the most of your brain as you can. To use only the left side of our brains would be a waste. When we don't even use all of our brains using an even smaller amount would just make it worse. Our creativity is what makes us who we are. Creativity is the window to originality. Without originality we are all the same being. Our minds would no longer drift off during class and we could not even think to dream. And to even imagine a world without creativity. No music. No art. No movies. No imagination. No one would even think to make a movie about the life of a bee(Bee Movie) or an ogre falling in love with a princess who just happens to be an ogre too(Shrek). No one would care to write such lyrics as "And this is the part where you find out who you are. And these are your friends those who've been there from the start."(The Maine) or "All you need is love"(The Beatles). No one would have even thought to pick up a paint brush and paint a "Starry Night" or ask a girl named Mona Lisa to pose for a painting. So take the step that needs to be taken and branch out from what the rest of the world is doing. Your creativity ultimately results in your originality. And what makes you stand out in a crowd is your originality.

I feel as though nothing today has inspired me. I feel as though I am still sick but am on my way to recovery. Thank the lord for Vicks =) Well that's really all there is to it. Medicine was created to make us feel better and we use it when we are sick and what does it do? It makes us feel better! I mean unless we have one of those reactions they always warn us about on commercials I mean may cause the need to gamble? Seriously, if we had a gambling issue I don't think we would be allowed to be taking medicine that may cause our problem to worsen. Somebody would have to draw the line there. I mean it's like giving a kid a bag of candy and telling them to try not eat too much. What kid is not going to eat all of that candy? You have to give them some and say that's all your getting. End of story. Actually more like end of journal.

so when you wake up and your head is pounding and you feel like you're going to fall over because you feel like your head weighs 100 lbs i guess you can call yourself sick. But what do we do when we are sick? I mean there is only so much bad TV we can watch before we are ready to shoot ourselves and so many hours we can stare at the computer screen before we are ready to cry. and video games are not an option because its just another screen to stare at. I mean seriously, when we have a headache and we cant even speak is playing rockband such a good idea? And again is looking at tiny letters in a book going to help our headaches? And we shouldnt even bother listening to music because its just as bad. So again I find myself face to face with boredom...what shall I do when there is nothing I can do.
